Conservation Volunteer Day
April 24 @ 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Join the Friends of Berrylands Nature Reserve for another of our regular “last Wednesday of the month” conservation volunteer session.
The session will run from 10am to 2pm, meeting as usual outside of Berrylands Scout Hut on Sterling Walk for a briefing before we get going.
The session is open and welcoming to anyone, and there will be tasks available for all, regardless or ability or experience.
Any help is always much appreciated, whether you can join us for an hour or two, or the whole session.
If you have any question about the session, or volunteering with the friends group then please drop us an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
The primary focus of this session is likely to be continuing with the work started last month to remove the invasive species variageted yellow archangel from around the nature reserve.
There are quite a few large patches to tackle, and our ambition is to eventually eradicate this decorative garden escape plant completely from the site.
We will also be topping up the woodchip spread on some of the paths over recent months.
There will be hot drinks and biscuits to keep eveyone going, but you might also want to bring along your own lunch.
Our volunteers are a hardy bunch, so we will be out come rain or shine. It is important to make sure you wear clothes you don’t mind getting a bit grubby, and that will keep you warm and dry.
Sturdy footwear is strongly advisable, and if you have your own gardening or work gloves then it might be useful to bring those along too.
Hope to see you there!
