Conservation Volunteering Day
August 21 @ 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
As a special additional event on Wednesday 21st August local conservation charity the Environment Trust (who led the restoration of the nature reserve last year) will be bringing along a group of young National Citizen Service volunteers to Berrylands Nature Reserve to help with our ongoing work caring for and improving the site for people and our local wildlife.
The Friends of Berrylands Nature Reserve will be helping to support the day, and any local volunteers are welcome along to lend some extra help.
The session will run from 10am – 3pm meeting outside Berrylands Scouts Hut on Stirling Walk for an intro briefing, before heading into the nature reserve.
Don’t worry if you can’t join us for the whole session, even an hour or two would be very gratefully appreciated.
We haven’t yet confirmed what tasks we will be doing on the day, but we will endeavour to make sure there are activities suitable for all ages, abilities and levels of experience.
Please make sure to wear weather appropriate clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty, and some sturdy footwear.
Also if you have your own gardening gloves feel free to bring those along too.
Volunteers of all ages are welcome, but we do ask that those under 14 are accompanied by an adult. Those aged 14-18 may volunteer alone, with parental consent forms to be completed on the day.
If you have any question about the session, or volunteering with the friends group in general then please drop us an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Hope you can join us.
