New Conservation Volunteer Days!

Posted on: 14th November 2018

After almost 2 months, since the last conservation activity at the nature reserve, we are pleased to announce the very first Friends of Berrylands Nature Reserve conservation volunteer day.
It will take place on Thursday the 29th November.

Over the last few months we have been busy setting up the Friends group and aquiring all the necessary insurances to be able to run our own sessions. So we are now very excited to be ready to finally get back into the nature reserve doing lots more fantastic conservation work to keep improving the site. And of course, we’d love as much help as possible if you are free.

We haven’t yet confirmed what tasks we will be doing on the day, but after a bit of a gap since the last session I am sure Elliot, our conservation lead, will find us plenty to do!

For more information see the event page for the session. We hope you can join us!

There will be lots more conservation days for the diary in the near future, and we promise not to make you wait so long before the next one!

In addition to running our own volunteer days we will also be continuing to support the Environment Trust when they run their own sessions as part of the Thames Water project at the site. Their new Conservation Manager, Karolina Peret, will be running her first session on Wednesday 28th November and will be bringing along a corporate group to provide extra hands. We are currently waiting for more information on this session, and will share more details when we have them, but we are hoping to be planting lots of new hedges and trees around the wildlife pond.
