The Friends of Berrylands Nature Reserve will be running another of our community conservation days on Sunday 28th of April from 10am – 2pm.
This session was originally scheduled to be held on the previous day but was rescheduled so the Friends group could support the Berrylands Adopt-a-Station Planting Day, and ensure people would be able to turn out to support both fantastic community projects.
From memory I believe this is the first time we have ever run a Sunday session at the nature reserve, so it will be great to see anyone who has struggled with the scheduling of some of our events in the past.
As a weekend session we will try to make sure there are tasks suitable for all ages.
If you have any question about the session, or volunteering with the friends group in general then please drop us an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
We will be meeting outside Berrylands Scouts Hut on Sterling Walk for an intro briefing, before heading into the nature reserve.
Don’t worry if you can’t join us for the whole session, even an hour or two would be very gratefully appreciated.
This session also coincides with the City Nature Challenge taking place across London and many other cities in both the UK and around the world. Why not bring a smartphone with you, and install the iNatutalist app, to help us record all of the flora and fauna found around the nature reserve.
More details here: http://citynaturechallenge.org/
As usual biscuits and warm drinks will be provided, but please make sure to wear weather appropriate clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty, and some sturdy footwear.
Also if you have your own gardening gloves feel free to bring those along too.
Volunteers of all ages are welcome, but we do ask that those under 14 are accompanied by an adult. Those aged 14-18 may volunteer alone, with parental consent forms to be completed on the day.
Hope you can join us.
